Disney has released the official trailer for their upcoming live-action film “Peter and Wendy,” and it’s safe to say that we’re already hooked. Based on J.M. Barrie’s beloved novel “Peter Pan,” the movie tells the story of a young boy who never grows up and his adventures in the magical world of Neverland.
The trailer opens with a shot of Wendy (played by Ever Anderson) gazing up at the stars while Peter (played by Alexander Molony) flies around her. We see glimpses of the Lost Boys, the villainous Captain Hook (played by Jude Law), and of course, Tinker Bell (played by Yara Shahidi).
Shahidi’s casting as Tinker Bell has been met with excitement from fans, as the character has traditionally been portrayed as a white, blonde fairy. Shahidi, a Black actress, brings a new and diverse perspective to the role.
The trailer features sweeping shots of Neverland, including the famous mermaid lagoon and the pirate ship. We also see Wendy and the Lost Boys soaring through the skies on their own magical adventure with Peter. And, of course, there are plenty of action-packed scenes featuring sword fights and high-flying stunts.
“Peter and Wendy” is directed by David Lowery, who is known for his work on “A Ghost Story” and “Pete’s Dragon.” The film will be available to stream on Disney+ on April 1st, 2022.
Overall, the trailer promises an enchanting and thrilling adventure that’s sure to delight fans of all ages. We can’t wait to see what other surprises “Peter and Wendy” has in store.
