Sir Elton John has reportedly increased his fee for private gigs by 300% and is now earning an estimated £4 million ($4,825,602.72) for an intimate performance, according to mirror.co.uk.
The singer was previously earning £1 million per hour for private shows, but has recently added an additional £3 million for a wedding performance, which was declined by the couple due to budget constraints. A source revealed that Elton John has raised his fee in response to the rising cost of living, and while the price may vary depending on the event, it has been significantly increased. While some super-rich fans may still be able to afford the cost, others are unable to do so.
One exception was billionaire Robert Kraft and his partner Dana Blumberg, who were long-time friends with the singer and did not have to pay for his performance at their ceremony in New York last October. Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour was already the highest-grossing run of performances of all time, with a total earning of USD 817.9 million (663.44 million pounds) from his latest Oceania leg. He is expected to earn an estimated 1 billion USD from his 50 European dates in 2023, including a 10-night stint at London’s O2 Arena and a headline performance at the Glastonbury Festival.
