Kristen Stewart, best known for her role as Bella Swan in The Twilight Saga, has been a working actor since her early years in Los Angeles, California. Her parents, John Stewart and Jules Stewart, both work in film and television. Stewart has three brothers, including an older brother Cameron Stewart and two adopted brothers, Dana and Taylor. She is of English, Scottish, and Ashkenazi Jewish descent.

Stewart’s acting career began when she was spotted by a talent scout during a grade school performance at the age of eight. She appeared on television in a few small roles before landing her first significant role as Sam Jennings in The Safety of Objects (2001). She then starred alongside Jodie Foster in the hit drama Panic Room (2002) and was nominated for a Young Artist Award.

After her critically acclaimed performance in Panic Room, Stewart joined the cast of Cold Creek Manor (2003) and received another Young Artist Award nomination. She continued to act in a handful of movies and a Showtime movie called Speak (2004) before being cast as a teenage singer in Sean Penn’s Into the Wild (2007). In 2008, Stewart took on the starring role in Twilight, based on the novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer. The film opened to fans eager to see the vampire romance brought to life, and Stewart’s portrayal of Bella earned her an MTV Movie Award for Best Female Performance. She continued her role as Bella in the sequels The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010), and the final installments of the series were released in 2011 and 2012.

Despite the success of the Twilight Saga, Stewart worked on several indie projects, including Adventureland (2009) and Welcome to the Rileys (2010), and played hard rocker Joan Jett in The Runaways (2010). Kristen’s favorite horror movie is The Shining (1980), and her favorite vampire movie is The Lost Boys (1987).

Kristen played guitar and recorded her own vocal tracks for six songs used in The Runaways (2010) film and its corresponding soundtrack.
